Who fixes the bug after your agent finds it? Google announced Gemini four Carbon today, aimed at sustained engineering work and cybersecurity defense.

Google says its internal teams have seen Carbon run for days, working through dead ends in large codebases and low-level systems. That is a company observation, not a promise about every job.

The security workflow spans finding a vulnerability, checking whether it poses a real risk, and patching the root cause. Finding a suspicious line is only the beginning; defenders still need a validated finding and a working fix.

Google also reports gains in secure code and benchmark performance. Those are vendor results, and the external benchmarks were evaluated without guardrails. We have not independently tested the model.

Access begins this week with a subset of cyber defenders, followed by trusted Fairwind partners. Broader developer, business and consumer access is coming later. Watch whether long runs produce verified fixes rather than just longer activity logs.
